Carlos Breuer is a researcher at the University of Extremadura, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, with a particular interest in collaboration and participation in projects related to Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Data Science, as well as the processing and segmentation of medical images.
His current research focuses on two main areas. First, he collaborates on a project aimed at ensuring reproducibility, replicability (R&R), and validation of Data Science pipelines through a model-driven approach. Simultaneously, he is actively involved in implementing prompting strategies applied to foundational segmentation models, such as SAM (Segment Anything Model), to optimize medical image segmentation and support medical diagnosis. Additionally, he is exploring new research directions within his group, centered on evaluating agent systems based on Large Language Models (LLMs).
Carlos’s work delves into the potential of Artificial Intelligence to identify new avenues for process automation that facilitate and improve people’s lives. To this end, he investigates methodologies for designing, developing, and validating AI systems that ensure robustness and reliability. His academic background, which includes a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Extremadura (2022) and a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from the International University of La Rioja (2023), provides him with a strong foundation to tackle these challenges.
On a personal level, Carlos is notable for his commitment, curiosity, and optimistic outlook on the recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence. His motivation lies in collaboration and continuous learning, with the goal of developing socially impactful solutions through intelligent automation.
